SAQ 1. What happens to force of contraction when there is sympathetic stimulation to the heart? Why? (4 marks)

after the exam, while discussing the paper…

“and force increases, because the beta 1 receptor are stimulated by noradrenaline and adrenaline, hence causing the activation of adenyl cyclase by the alpha unit of the G protein, which exchanges ATP for ADP…which causes the formation of the 2nd messenger cAMP…”

samuel rambles on the answer “……”

i continue “………..”

he continues “………”

and i end “hence the force of contraction of the heart increases”.

elise stares at the both of us.

“what??? you guys wrote all of that?? it was only 4 marks”

me and samuel look at each other, break out into grins and hi 5 each other.
