Swim/American Football

October 8, 2010 at 6:28 pm (life!, med, school)

Wednesday 13th tbc this is going to be a fitness and agility session from now on in Hyde Park. This change has been made so people are now free to go to sports night on a Wednesday.

Thursday 14th 8pm – 10pm is going to be our training down at Harlington.  The move has also come about because few mini buses would be available on a Wednesday night due to other clubs playing away games and them getting priority.

Sunday 17th training in hyde park 1pm – 4pm

Training times for Autumn Term 2010
Monday 19:30 – 20:45
Friday 19:30 – 20:45
Saturday 16:00 – 18:00

great…so swim and American football don’t clash this year! i’m going to be able to make it down for all six trainings a week, with Tuesdays off.

first proper swim training starts tonight, wonder how that’s going to turn out – probably not very well. my last session was nearly 2 months ago, i’d be happy just to stay afloat at the end of it.

on the other hand i’ve already had two American football sessions since term started; seems like they are eager for me to play wide receiver/running back on the offensive line this year because i’m quick, but the head coach suggested corner back since it runs less risk of injury in my clinical year. my preferred choice is probably still running back though, since i like to run with the ball, avoid tackles and score touchdowns (all hypothetically of course). too bad they get hit pretty hard a lot too since they are carrying the ball most of the time – we’ll see how that turns out.

in other news, apparently we have our own cheerleaders for American football this year.

hahaha just saying…
